This article explains how to connect your Erbium event to Salesforce.
Before You Begin
- Obtain the credentials for the dedicated SalesForce user account assigned to your team or the ERBIUM platform.
If you are unsure or do not already have the credentials please contact your organization's SalesForce Administrator directly. We cannot provide assistance in creating or obtaining credentials to your SalesForce instance. A series of articles provides more information for your SaleForce Administrator, if required.
Step 1: Create an Integration User
Step 2: Create a Connected App
Step 3: Obtain the Consumer Credentials
The credentials obtained from your SalesForce administrator must include the following three components. It is important that you pay close attention to spelling and case sensitivity.- Base URL
- Consumer Token
- Consumer Secret
- Ensure an active Campaign exists within SalesForce to which you will connect the event.
Add a SalesForce Connector to your Erbium Event
- Login to the Erbium Platform and navigate the the event you wish to connect to SalesForce.
- From the Setup menu select Connectors and choose SalesForce
- Provide the Base URL, Consumer Key and Consumer Secret
Your SalesForce administrator will be able to assist in obtaining these credentials.
Configure the SalesForce Connector
- Link to an existing Campaign. If you do not have a Campaign please create one prior to connecting. Also map the Campaign Member Status for 'Registered' and 'Cancelled'. We recommend creating similar Status' for Campaign Members. If they do not appear in the drop down ask your SalesForce administrator to do create these Campaign Member Status within Salesforce for your Campaign.
- If your event is configured to collect payments an Opportunity can be created within SalesForce to track these sums. If your event is configured to allow multiple registrants within a single folio Opportunities will be attached to the primary registrant in a folio.
- Indicate desired Contact Records behaviour. For each registration Erbium will determine if the registrant already exists within SalesForce and update their record accordingly. If Erbium finds no existing Person Account it can create a new record.
- Map contact fields (Optional)
- Click "Update Configuration" to continue
The connection will be tested and if successful the SalesForce connector will be displayed.
